There are simple apps you can install on your phone that will notify you when I add a new post to my site, so you don’t have to keep checking.

RSS, which stands for Really Simple Syndication, is a process that allows people to be updated from websites they follow without having to repeatedly visit them. You probably subscribe to channels on YouTube or other social networking platforms, and RSS is very similar to that, except that it allows you to track many websites though one app.

You can find a variety of apps for your phone reviewed here. They all do about the same thing, and there are both iPhone and Android versions. Some you can sync with a web page on a computer.

Once you install the app, you can add just about any website you with to follow. You just copy and paste the address of the site you want to follow. When your app shows you that there is a new post on a site you are following, it will show you a brief summary of the post, and often a photo. Then you just click on the link to see the entire post.

I use Feedly on my phone, and follow almost 20 websites and blogs. The free version does enough for me.
